Job Title: Retail Operations Manager
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Department: Retail Division
Date: January 5, 2025
Position Objective:
The Retail Operations Manager (ROM) provides overall leadership and management of the company’s retail locations. Lead and develop effective retail operations and management team to achieve profitability and growth objectives.
Specific Job Duties:
- Responsible for obtaining profitable results in the Retail Division through motivation, counseling, skills development, and product knowledge development.
- Directly supervise the retail store managers, including hiring, terminating, coaching, counseling, and creating development plans for each store manager.
- Design and implement a strategic business plan that will lead to profitable growth.
- Lead team members to ensure the customer has an excellent shopping experience that differentiates Rocky Mountain Supply from the competition. Ensure that all employees give superior customer service to all patrons.
- Work with the company marketing staff to develop and implement Retail Division marketing programs and advertising plans.
- Communicate company processes, policies, and directives to team members. Evaluate those processes for effectiveness.
Skills Necessary for Job Performances:
- High school diploma, bachelor’s degree in Agriculture-Science or Business-related field preferred.
- Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, and ag supply knowledge is strongly preferred.
- Supervisory experience is required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Knowledge of computers, including but not limited to Word and Excel.
- Ability to prioritize and work with competing demands.
- Ability to resolve conflict as well as train and motivate employees.
- As this is a salary position, the ROM must be able to work 8+ hours per day, including evenings and weekends, if necessary, to fulfill job duties.
